Review: Demonic Dora (The Demon Diaries book #`1)
by: Claire Chilton

Not even in hell she is welcome. Meet Dora Carridine, the daughter of Theodore Carridine- a reverend, and her mother, Josie Carridine an ex-pole dancing. Dora has tried every sin she is capable of just to annoy her parents, but for some time she has been practicing dark magic- to summon a demon lord. Her first command if she ever gets a demon lord? Make her room red from the pink-princess room her parents choosed for her.  She decides to try again to summon a demon, but not just a demon- a high-level one. Dora places several black candles (making a circle with them), an ornate pottery bowl with a mixture of herbs, five drops of her blood and a Karabashi bloodstone. Just when she thought this was another failure, she’s being called a witch, with a hot blond demon and everyone wants her to burn.

Profile:

1. Dora-> Also known as: “Demonic Dora”, “Minx-witch”, “Dora-minx”. She is human and witch. She’s brave, stubborn, fighter, lazy, intelligent (in her own ways). She’s 5’8, wiht long legs, black hair; and has a really shiny soul, meaning she’s more good than evil. She then (in evil form) had powerful wings.

2. Kieron-> Kieron Derek Lascher is a demon lord, high-level. His ability is magic. He has high cheekbones, strong jawline, tanned skin, broad shoulders, great butt, abs, blond hair and blue eyes. He’s very brave, intelligent, overreacting, silly, cute, even strong. There’s something at the end of the book which can change what he is ( he then, has white and black wings.

3. Lord Lascher-> Lionel; Kieron’s father. Demon form: Color: black, body with veiny muscles, long fingers, sharp talons, scaly wings and deep voice. Normal form: middle-aed man with slicked black hair and dark blue eyes. He’s very powerful, bussiness man, traitor, he likes to tempt, and very silly when it comes to be with his wife.

4. Lady Lascher-> Anika; Kieron’s mother. Normal form: She’s a petit brunette with wazy hair and wears a sixties style dress. Very powerful (perhaps more than Lionel?), a pain the butt and very, very annoying.

5. Pooey-> He is a small, brown colored demon with straggly fur, a squashed face and it was limply. Very grumpy and intelligent; has ninja skills and self-esteem issues. He can transform in a six-foot tall teddy with wicked claws and abs. Complete name: Personious Caelius.

Notes:

  • Lord Lascher, Kieron and Dora had the chance to ride the big, red dragon of the famous The Sky Huntress. There are different flyers but are under her command. Sky Huntress wore flying goggles, had long, blond hair and had a shapely figure.
  • Kieron’s grandmother comes from under Hell, beneath the lava lakes. Is the level of Hell that is full of sexual deviants. She’s about ten-foot, blond amazon with curves and she looked like she had twenty five; wears a red leather underwear. Very nice and funny. His grandfather is 5’5 and slightly bald; wears black leather pants and a dog collar; his name is Hickory Lascher and his the Headmaster of Daemon Academia.
  • Lascher’s house: Is a vast castle on a hill at the side of the highway, with black pointy spires, with carvings of demons in every ledge, and in the entrance was the open mouth of a demonic creature with sharp teeth.
  • Professor Kazaik-> He is tall and pale, with long black hair. He was the highest warlock in the level. He was a first class professor of power; which meant he was the most powerful demon in the school.
  • They attein power by hating.
  • Soul chips-> Are to pay; if they are with a lot of light- pure- they have more meaning.
Thanks to NetGalley for this awesome book.!

Don’t Fear the Reaper
                                by: Michelle Muto

My review:

Don't Fear the ReaperKeely Morrison, a rebel girl that had a past were she used to use drugs, likes to hang out with a lot of people, have fun, go out of the house with or without permission meets death. She had everything that made her happy; a twin sister that was just like her- enjoys life-; when suddenly both of their lifes and their family as well change when Jordan(keely sister) is killed. Keely doesn’t enjoy life anymore, she feels like crap and needs to be with her sister. She wonders is her sister is already an angel. In those days of depression she starts looking for ways of suicide and decides to take a bath in the shower that both of them used when they were little to play with bubbles and the water. While she drinks and thinks she cuts herself and her life you changes forever as she meets a hot-annoying demon named  Daniel and Banning, the blue-eye reaper who helped her to cross the other world. Every thought of the afte life is ruined when she knows she’s a earthbound, an inbetween, which means she can’t move very fast or have practically any of the “awesome” abilities the other two have. In her journey she starts to understand the afterlife is not what we think of. And just when she thought she would be back with her sister, she learns Jordan is lost too in this parallel dimension, with demons lurking around… specially one named Pete. Will they get revenge for what he did to her sister?

My thoughts:

I really can’t say how much I did like this book. Not only contains real life problems but it has the touch of dark fantasy and you can see that there IS something more than most people of this time wants to accept. It made me remember so much of events I have been through in my life. I have seen death since I had six years old; my mom died, then at the age of thirteen my dad died too; so you see it makes me remember how perhaps maybe mom or dad were in here with us and sometimes we can be foolish and say “no, it was my imagination”. The other thing I loved most was the relationship between the sisters. I haven’t read a book that had such a strong bond between sisters (or brothers) which I am glad I get to read a book that shows the love between them; I do enjoy when in others books they fight but this one made me think twice.

I higly recomend it for those who want to think twie about life and death. 5/5!

GIVEAWAY TIME :D!

Angels or Demons. Watchers or Vedeines… Who is good and who is evil? Only time will tell…

IT MAY HAVE SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My review:

Just as Amelia found love and could live “happy”knowing that Lilith is gone for good, she gets married with the man she thought would make her forever happy. But just as her grandparents and others in the airplane were going from the island, they crash and die, and when Amelia’s mother get’s the notice she also dies giving birth to her son; leaving Amelia all alone. She can’t endure the pain she has and she’s feeling sad and lonely, specially when her suppose-to-be husband Robert calls her a slut and leaves her just because he is jealous that Marius, besides Christopher is taking care of her as well. When she decides to carry on with her life, raise her sister and baby brother, she encounters a new danger, and just when she thought she doesn’t want to mate forever with anyone, she meets the angel Kaius.

She meets love for a second time. She meets danger as well. The fight has started. Angels and Vedeines.

5/5! ❤ Need more of this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Vedeine Saga (Deception) by Ashley Strachan

Goodreads:
After a near death experience, nineteen year old Amelia was changed into a Vedeine. A demon.

Leaving the only home she has ever known in Ontario, Canada, she is sent to live with others of her kind, in Portland, Oregon.

My review:

All starts when Amelia, a young Vedeine, has been change and her creator; an old woman who is still a mystery after what she have done to her; decides to send her to a “untrustful” man called Christopher, is one of the first seven Vedeine-demons- come to this world. But just when she meets him she already notices he is kind a wonderful person who looks after her like if she were his own daughter, for no other reason but that he had been in a forever-bond-relationship with her creator, whom name is Lilith…. while she starts her training, get to know everything about vedeines and starts her new life she feels a strange-love connection with a breautiful “young”artist named Robert and they are ment to be together. Just as she knows the true and her three man companions help her, her life comes down to a horrible accident and her “forever”husband doesn’t care how she feels and that is when he leaves her most alone.

A great and wonderful story. I loved the character and how the author developed the story along with the places. Very awesome 😀 5/5

* I love Christopher and Marius. Can’t wait to read more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *

Deception (The Vedeine Saga, #1)

Cassandra Clare books: The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices

0

Well hello there! I had been waiting for this!!!!! when I can finally talk about this awesome series. I feel a little guilty because …. I haven’t actually planned to read the first book of the Infernal Devices and I regret to haven’t read this book before!!! I LOVED IT! yeah well let’s start with this!

THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS:

Book One: City of Bones
When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder – much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It’s hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing – not even a smear of blood – to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary’s first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It’s also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace’s world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know.

Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare’s ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.

SPOILERS

It all starts when she sees for the first time Shadowhunters. This book is the beginning of the new life that Clary is going to have from now on, as she soon discovers she’s just not a “normal” girl, but a Shadowhunter. All secrets starts to unfold and a lot of thing happens… like meeting hot boys, for example Jace. Oh beautiful Jace, strong and cold. The kiss was a beautiful thing to think… but hey I was totally jealous! I mean what a grat hottie you got there, Clary! and another thing I really like is that she draws. The way the author explain the story it’s really good. I mean half angel? and how they were created, it’s really awesome. You just have to read this book. READ IT!!!!! and well Clary will start a new journey that will change her life.

                                                                       5/5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Book Two: City of Ashes
· 62,377 ratings · 5,149 reviews

Clary Fray just wishes that her life would go back to normal. But what’s normal when you’re a demon-slaying Shadowhunter, your mother is in a magically induced coma, and you can suddenly see Downworlders like werewolves, vampires, and faeries? If Clary left the world of the Shadowhunters behind, it would mean more time with her best friend, Simon, who’s becoming more than a friend. But the Shadowhunting world isn’t ready to let her go — especially her handsome, infuriating, newfound brother, Jace. And Clary’s only chance to help her mother is to track down rogue Shadowhunter Valentine, who is probably insane, certainly evil — and also her father.

To complicate matters, someone in New York City is murdering Downworlder children. Is Valentine behind the killings — and if he is, what is he trying to do? When the second of the Mortal Instruments, the Soul-Sword, is stolen, the terrifying Inquisitor arrives to investigate and zooms right in on Jace. How can Clary stop Valentine if Jace is willing to betray everything he believes in to help their father?

I always knew Simon was in love with Clary.**

                                                                                  4/5

Book Three: City of Glass
To save her mother’s life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters — never mind that entering the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and her best friend, Simon, has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.

As Clary uncovers more about her family’s past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadowhunter Sebastian. With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadowhunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. But can Downworlders and Shadowhunters put aside their hatred to work together? While Jace realizes exactly how much he’s willing to risk for Clary, can she harness her newfound powers to help save the Glass City — whatever the cost?

Love is a mortal sin and the secrets of the past prove deadly as Clary and Jace face down Valentine in the final installment of the New York Times bestselling The Mortal Instruments.

SPOILERS!
I really loved how hot it was her brother Sebastian. Yes he was her brother and not Jace… not really. I really loved this book. When Magnus and Alex kissed! FINALLY! Simon being a hot vampire, how he fought, Clary with Jace and how she helped him… using the legendary mortal instrumen wish. Valentince dead…and how Jace, Clary and Sebastian were created; Jace and Clary with more angel blood, beautiful! and Sebastian hot demon, I can see.
                                                                           SUPER 5/5

LOVE this cover, the guy is hot and the wings are awesome.
Book four: City of Fallen Angels
Some spoilers!
Simon is a new kind of vampire… with super powers that some vampires want. He can’t choose between Maia or Isabelle… and well he has to sort things out with her human mother. Sebastian is back and a lot of things dealing with magic is coming… and not good, since Jace too was having this sort of vision where he killed Clary while… having a hot affair. Love problems, drama, dead people… plus new marks and magic? Trouble.

The Spook’s Apprentice serie!/ The Last Apprentice

4

The Last Apprentice by Joseph Delaney!

Two days ago I finished reading the last book ( for now! ) in The Last Apprentice serie. I love every bookn this author writes. 5/5 all of them, is a most read!

Here are the books with the goodread excerpt and sometimes mine too!, picture and some comments of mine.

Book #1:  The Last Apprentice: Revenge of the Witch

Young Tom, the seventh son of a seventh son, starts work as an apprentice for the village spook; as there isn’t another job for him; whose job is to protect ordinary folk from “ghouls, boggarts, and all manner of wicked beasties…. and fight with deadly witches! will he survive?

* I just love the concept of a seventh son of a seventh son. I liked the Spook as soon as I read him for the first time( name: John). He is such an old cranky man!. Anyway the first thing he had to do was pass sort of a test and is staying in a old creepy house ….the thing is here is the start of an adventure as he too meets a girl…. with pointy shoes! when you read the serie you will know why is bad a girl with pointy shoes.

Revenge of the Witch (The Last Apprentice / Wardstone Chronicles, #1)

Book #2: Curse of the Bane

The Spook and his apprentice, Thomas Ward, rid the county of witches, ghosts, boggarts, and other creatures of the dark. And there’s some unfinished business to attend to in Priestown. Deep in the catacombs lurks a creature the Spook has never been able to defeat; a force so evil that the whole county is in danger. The Bane!
But the Bane is not their only enemy. The Quisitor arrives, intent on hunting down anyone who meddles with the dark. Thomas Ward and the Spook must prepare for the battle of their lives.

Just wow! this book had me in such a way!!!! I was like oh no he’s gonna get killed. But it was a really good book, better than the first. I liked how he created Priestown ( I also like the name), I think here is where we meet one of John Gregory’s brother; and well the Quisitor is such an ass. Really…

Curse of the Bane (The Last Apprentice / Wardstone Chronicles, #2)

Book #3: Night of the Soul Stealer
As the weather grows colder and the nights draw in, the Spook and his apprentice Tom Ward must be even more vigilant in their battles against the boggarts, witches, and ghosts roaming the county. When they receive an unexpected visitor, the Spook decides it is time to move to his winter house in Anglezarke. It is a bleak, forbidding place, full of witches and secrets. Tom hears rumors of menacing creatures stirring on the moors nearby, including the evil beast called Golgoth. Who was the mysterious visitor? And is Tom prepared for what he will find in Anglezarke?

* Another really good story and another good fights this two with Alice and verything. In Anglezarke some secrets from the spook will be out and a new fight and new enemies come.

Night of the Soul Stealer (The Last Apprentice / Wardstone Chronicles, #3)

Book #4:  Attack of the Fiend!

Tom hears rumors of menacing creatures stirring on the moors nearby, including the evil beast called Golgoth. Who was the mysterious visitor? And is Tom prepared for what he will find in Anglezarke

SPOILERS

Also in here he meets another wonderful character which is Bill Arkwright whom is another spook. In order to complete what Tom is learning he has to go and be the apprentice for a while to another spook!! besides Bill being all big, all muscle and a drunker he has to learn to swim, and fight a new type of witches. Bill is not like Gregory, when he kills a witch he gives the heart of the witch to his beautiful beast Tooth and Claw which I love them and they eat it! and then he chops off the head!. I am very sad to say that Bill died and Tooth too, being Claw pregnant. I cried. Well the good thing is they won agains the witch they were fighting.

Wrath of the Bloodeye (The Last Apprentice / Wardstone Chronicles, Book 5)

TOOTH AND CLAW! ❤

Book # 6: Clash of the Demons

     War looms on the horizon
As the Spook’s apprentice, Tom Ward must protect the County from the creatures of the dark. But now his mother has returned from her homeland to seek his help. A dangerous ancient witch, Ordeen, is about to rise, bringing with her suffering and devastation. Tom’s mother has mustered a powerful army—including Tom’s friend Alice and the assassin Grimalkin—to confront Ordeen. If Tom joins them, the Spook will abandon Tom as his apprentice. What sacrifices will be made in the battle against the dark?

* SPOILERSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS SUPER SPOILERSSSSSSSSSSSS

From all the books this one is one of the best. Mam.. mam is the mother of the Lamias!!!!!!!!! in  here we are going to learn about her, which she is another of the characters that I like. This fight wih the Ordeen and niads and everything that is lurking in here is fantastic and terrifying at the same time… and when Tom did a pact with the Fiend I SCREAMED!

Clash of the Demons (Last Apprentice Series #6)

Book #7: Rise of the Huntress

Things can never be the same again.

The Spook and his apprentice, Thomas Ward, have returned to the county after a long journey and a hard battle. But their troubles are far from over. Their home has been over-run by enemy soldiers. The Spook’s house is in ruins, the boggart protecting it has fled, and the malicious witches imprisoned in the gardens have escaped.

Tom, Alice, and the Spook must flee, too, across the ocean to the island of Mona. And it’s on Mona that this small band fighting against the dark will face an old enemy grown terrifyingly powerful. Will they be able to vanquish an evil that crawls beneath the ground itself? At what cost?

Will Tom and the Spook ever be able to return home?
 SPOILERS!!!!!

I cried when I read that the house was in ruins. That the cute fluffy boggar cat had fled… Poor John Gregory! and Bony Lizzie has escaped her bonds!! terrible! and worst of all she is not the aunt of Alice… IS HER MOTHER! and she’s the Fiend daughter!!!!!!!!!!!! freaking omg.
Anyway in here we can sort of a story about a fight with Bony Lizzie and the spook, Tom and Alice.

Rise of the Huntress (The Last Apprentice / Wardstone Chronicles, #7)

Book #8: Rage of the Fallen

A dangerous few months lie ahead—ones which some of us will be hard-pressed to survive.

Thomas Ward has served as the Spook’s apprentice for three years. He has battled boggarts, witches, demons, and even the devil himself. Tom has enemies: The Fiend stalks him, waiting for a moment of weakness. The terrifying Morrigan, goddess of witches, warned him never to step foot on her homeland, Ireland.
But now war has consumed their own country, and Tom, his friend Alice, and the Spook must flee to Ireland. The dark rages strongly there. No one can be trusted. Can Tom defeat the creatures that hunt him most fiercely?

SPOILERS

I loved the sword he is given! I am happy that Grimalkin is once again in here and that she’s alive… and that they have bound the Fiend for a little while!!. But when the Fiend took Alice now she has come back thanks to Pan but like a mean Alice… perhaps the story will not end that happy if Alice starts being like she did… He escaped the Morrigan yay! and well go to read the story and STOP THE TIME ;))))
