Magic Academy

Firia’s father worked nights but that didn’t mattered to her; it was the perfect opportunity for her to hang around the dark corridors for the Arcane Academy, a place which few humans had gone. Besides, at nights she didn’t had to meet the high elves. She went around to see the buildings and learn about them but she always went back to the same place: The Grand Library. The place in which she had spent her childhood reading tomes of spells and secrets. But as she learned more, she longed for more and more and because of that besides reading she practiced spells. Until one day she finds a hidden black book which she studied in detail before casting her first ritual. This spell was going to help her achieve her grand goal: to enter to the Academy, to make the elves notice a human. She was a human. Later on, in the library’s study room she finds herself in front of a monstrous being, the one she had summoned- a being called Varuj. He knows she wants to be a powerful sorceress and he will do anything to help her.

“He grinned unevenly at her. “Does it bother you, little human? He took hold of that massive length, gripped it in his hand and began to stroke it-actually stroke it!-right in front of her. He stared down at her petite form, mouth hanging open, fangs on display as he tongued his lower lip.”

My thoughts:

Just WOW, I have read other stories from them but I really have to say this book is my favorite so far. I can’t really wait to read the others book that will hopefully come. This story, besides having a lot of fantasy, has sweet erotica scenes and I really love the characters. I really liked Varuj since I started reading about him- there’s something about him that captures you, his maneuver, how he knows everyhting and simply because he’s the perfect package: hot and intelligent. But of course I didn’t liked what he did with someone. Firia well she’s nice and again I like that she’s really intelligent but for me she’s not my favorite, but if it wasn’t for her we wouldn’t have smexy scenes.  Then there’s Mae’lin; he’s the first one to have ever talk to her (he’s an elven) and I really have to say that even if I love Varuj he’s really is competition for the hot demon. Mae’lin’s not only sweet and intelligent, he is a great fighter and he’s really nice and a good friend. What happened with him at the end (read the book!) was really shocking and that’s the main reason of why I want to continue reading this story. Mae’lin started to grow on me and I hope to see him more… I think the authors are having little issues if to leave her with Varuj or with Mae’lin- I really want to know what happens and this is the first time I have ever wondered with whom she will stay. The school is awesome, I love that they had to learn a new language and their final examination was pretty neat. Overall such a really good, I loved it and I want more of it. This authors are really getting better if they aren’t already. Thank you so much for the ARC.

Aleron
       by: Kane

My review:

This is the story of a man once human named Aleron. Camilia and Aknon had Aleron the seventh day of January in 1791 in the Greco-Roman city of Alexandria, Egypt; his father was an artisan and his mother and sister Shani devoted their lives to religion. Aleron was no normal boy for he understood the science and the mathematics, but the thing he most loved it was history, and because of history his lived change faster. It was March 22, 1817 just leaving the library for a walk to al-Montaza Square when he felt Her presence. On May 14 in Cairo, Egypt he was attending the most prestigious social ball of the year, the Promethium. Once a year, men of wealth and influence gathered to meet and socialize with their peers, but when a unexplainable illness had befallen Davila he had to come in his place; that’s when she meets her in the Concubines room. The moment he sees her proportioned body and those brown eyes of her he felt in love with her. When Aleron wakes up he sees he was naked and a lot of organs were out of him- he was a mess! and this is just the beginning of the changes Aleron most face. He lives in the “castle” with Mynea, his creator, his lover, his immortal mother; in where they will make love, eat and wake up the first years of his immortal life; have adventures in the hunting- but when suddenly Mynea leaves Aleron he is alone and with a broken heart, and with a slave named Eliza that falls in love with him- true love. Just when he decides to hunt again he decides to go back to his past- to his parent’s house. Even his father being old and all the years that he hasn’t seen his son and even thought of him dead he realizes Aleron is his even if his hair had grown to a mane and his clothing with dark colors; Aleron realizes his mother is dying of a broken heart; he then goes to the City of the Dead were he meets another vampire! and puts him to sleep. Pandora, that’s her name, the almost physical twin of Mynea and her worst enemy. She had black hair, her height and general stature were almost identical to Mynea’s; her breasts were slightly larger, creamy olive skin with greenish-blue color eyes; and she will help him to complete his vampire life- the creation. Finally Eliza gets what she wants- immortality and given by Aleron is the best thing she could ever have, his first creation and she has an amazing power, to manipulate anyone’s organ without touching them. Pandora’s warning of him trying to save Mynea is lost when that moments come to life. Aleron most life and live… besides who says Vlad is the beginning of the vampires?

My thoughts:

First, thanks to netgally for giving this amazin book. Is one of my favorite vampire reads so far; besides the random fact where I didn’t imagined most of the vampires white. I love this book so much because of the amazing history background explanations; besides the fact that has vampires and a wonderful story. I most-wait I NEED to know what happens next! I will miss this characters so much! they have mark my life. Immortality is not everything as we think.

I thought of some people that may look like some of the characters:

1) This one could do like double character of Pandora and/or Mynea if not both then Pandora. She’s is gorgeous : Monica Bellucci. Yes is the same woman!

* This is the perfect Eliza!

As a human: I did imagine her like this!

As a vampire!:

* Natasha: The third from the important ones; I didn;t imagined her beautiful I imagined her exotic but even so this actress is perfect for her: Natalie Portman and oh I always love to imagine this character with the hair up.

*. Mynea!- She is beautiful and I love how she uses her eyes.

*Vlad: I imagined him just like this.

*Aleron- Well Aleron is in my mind ;).

The Kindling

My review:

At the age of thirteen years old, three young kindling named Melanie, Conner and Lexa are changing. Conner, the twin of Lexa is getting sick of a bully named Geoffrey and because of the situations that Geofrrey is making Conner pass, the changes had started by “weird” situations like turning his pants on fire, doing holes by punching the lockers and such as getting the three friends in problem. They think their teachers wants to kill them, as they are sending each other emails, and worst of all they are watching them. Just as they thought there was no exit to this, they meet Light and Darkness and now that they know the truth they must decided if to fight for the Light. What will happen with Darkness?

My thoughts:

I loved, loved, loved this story. I wish I could write and read so many stories as this one. I didn’t stopped until I finished and I wish for more… I think there’s going to be right? what happened with ________ and _______? (muahaha read the book and find out who they are) and well I really like the plot, the characters and the magic! (well energy-magic) and little Madi is such a cute girl! and I think she will be one of them too, if you know what I mean. Is an awesome story and I recommend this to E-V-E-R-Y-O-N-E-! It has magic, action, a little romance, friendship, fantasy; just everything.

5/5 <3!

Rogue’s Pawn
                   by: Jeffe Kennedy

My review:

Rogue's Pawn

A normal boring life, nerd scientific Dr. McGee, Jennifer, thought that having a life with a man with money and appearance being handsome and all was okay; she even thought she loved him! but in another lame-conversation “party” she realizes she has been wasting her time beside a man that doesn’t love him. She decides to escape from that place and arrives at a mysterious place called Devils Tower and that’s when all her “normal boring life changes drastically; for you see Jennifer has been having nightmares of a black dog, The Dog, and it haunts her, it doesn’t matter if she’s naked the dog is determinated to kill her, and does it. Just as she thought she was dead because of the impact and her not actually having her throat good, she wakes up in a room held by chains with “weird” bitchy, beautiful and magical people in the other realm. She doesn’t understand why she is so powerful nor how can people read her thoughts nor how this world works, besides every help you can get for you have to pay it no matter how little they are and now our heroine whose name will change to Gwynn must face sex, blood, sadness and power.

My thoughts:

I loved this story! you should go and run to BUY IT!!! It has everything: magic, sex, battles, love, and just well everything. And the cat, Darling, I loved him(it I know, I know) and reminds me of my own cat. But I have some questions! like why did she had so much power if she was a human? From where she got it? How did Rogue knew about her? and so go on. But even so you can really enjoy the story and I love how she becomes more powerful than she really is. Every single character is powerful and I loved how this author can make me feel the anger, sadness, among other things (if you know what I mean *wink, wink*) and it made me sit here all day to finish her book. And I DON’T regret it. I will remember this story that’s for sure <3. Oh and I love the cover, is gorgeous but *blushes* Rogue was way hotter. This is a story that teaches us to accept when love comes to our life, that not every time we can be the one commanding the others and the most important thing: be careful for what you wish for ;). Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher I got the book!

Taste

My review:

Barinkoff Academy has one real rule that could meant expulsion: Everyone had to be off campus by sundown. But when break-rules Phoenix McKay falls asleep in the library she is determinated to find someone to take her to the dorms. Just as she goes back to the school (that looks more like a castle) she sees a group of people with different clothing and when she thought they were student they decide they want to taste her flesh. T-A-S-T-E. But she is save by a handsome blue-black hair guy named Dimitri and that’s when all her “normal-nerd”life starts to change just because of curiosity. She realizes Barinkoff Academy has a secret, Day Students and Night students in the same school, persons that want to eat her flesh and the memory of her mother when she died. She’s determinated to know more about this scret; about this Night Students and the handsome Dimitri, and she will help the Night Students and the others flesh eaters in a way no one can suspect; becoming one of them. Will Phoenix McKary find her answer? can she really help, or is she the cause to the end of that race? Will she find love? All the answers are in Barinkoff Academy.

My thoughts:

I loved Dimitri, Luka and Yana! they are all so sweet. I really like Dimitri but Luka and Yana… I want to be part of that family 😦 haha. This story is really good, I loved the love parts, the fights, and that library was awesome! I would love to hear more of them. I’m going to miss them!!! and the cover is wonderful as well.

                                                                                    5/5!!

REVIEW AND GIVEAWAY: Don’t Fear the Reaper by Michelle Muto

Don’t Fear the Reaper
                                by: Michelle Muto

My review:

Don't Fear the ReaperKeely Morrison, a rebel girl that had a past were she used to use drugs, likes to hang out with a lot of people, have fun, go out of the house with or without permission meets death. She had everything that made her happy; a twin sister that was just like her- enjoys life-; when suddenly both of their lifes and their family as well change when Jordan(keely sister) is killed. Keely doesn’t enjoy life anymore, she feels like crap and needs to be with her sister. She wonders is her sister is already an angel. In those days of depression she starts looking for ways of suicide and decides to take a bath in the shower that both of them used when they were little to play with bubbles and the water. While she drinks and thinks she cuts herself and her life you changes forever as she meets a hot-annoying demon named  Daniel and Banning, the blue-eye reaper who helped her to cross the other world. Every thought of the afte life is ruined when she knows she’s a earthbound, an inbetween, which means she can’t move very fast or have practically any of the “awesome” abilities the other two have. In her journey she starts to understand the afterlife is not what we think of. And just when she thought she would be back with her sister, she learns Jordan is lost too in this parallel dimension, with demons lurking around… specially one named Pete. Will they get revenge for what he did to her sister?

My thoughts:

I really can’t say how much I did like this book. Not only contains real life problems but it has the touch of dark fantasy and you can see that there IS something more than most people of this time wants to accept. It made me remember so much of events I have been through in my life. I have seen death since I had six years old; my mom died, then at the age of thirteen my dad died too; so you see it makes me remember how perhaps maybe mom or dad were in here with us and sometimes we can be foolish and say “no, it was my imagination”. The other thing I loved most was the relationship between the sisters. I haven’t read a book that had such a strong bond between sisters (or brothers) which I am glad I get to read a book that shows the love between them; I do enjoy when in others books they fight but this one made me think twice.

I higly recomend it for those who want to think twie about life and death. 5/5!

GIVEAWAY TIME :D!

The Fall of Ithar The Fall of Ithar
                by: Kevis Hendrickson

The Fall of Ithar recounts the events of the great war fought to protect the last kingdom of Men from the dreaded hosts of the Shadow-Kings. It is a tale of epic heroes and fearsome villains. Journey to a time when the gods walked among Men and heroes lived and died by their courage!

My review:

I really enjoyed this easy-fast-reading book becuase it reminds me of King Arthur or like The Lord of the Rings or some sort of a hero from that era. A book were dark magic, battles, blood, and love seems the most important thing if our life. This story is like someone retelling it and talks about the last hope of the human race.

-If you want a fast reading short story read this one!. Another great story by Kevis Hendrickson.
